THE THEME OF THE DAY

What did the federal government concoct in the case of Maaßen?

There it is again, the stupid feeling: With the red-black government coalition something is not right. Uncoupled from their republic, the party leaders Merkel, Seehofer and Nahles believe that they had "taken a face" with Maaßing's departure. Capitalist Andreas Borcholte recommends GroKo, please land!

What does not make the whole thing better: Union and SPD launch different versions, as Maaßens controversial displacement came up. Nahles and Seehofer had agreed to promotion to Secretary of State - some want to make believe in the Union. Merkel could not prevail against Seehofer, Nahles had to save the government - so goes the SPD version. Where the truth lies, the capital correspondents Florian Gathmann and Christian Teevs fathom.

Who follows Maaßen as the president of the constitution? Interior Minister Horst Seehofer still leaves that open. In the corridors of the Federal Office prevails helplessness, our security expert Jörg Diehl learned from the Cologne headquarters.

Further collateral damage of Operation Maaßen: Secretary of State Gunther Adler, SPD member, must make way for Maassen to move into the Casa Seehofer. The SPD is very contrite about the departure of Adler.

Even otherwise it rumbles in the party violently, because SPD leader Nahles has supported the Maaßen change. Nahles responded with persistence slogans. In order not to endanger the coalition, the comrades Seehofer would just "endure".

OPINION

Immigration law, now! The ex-CDU general secretary, Peter Tauber, answers with an unfamiliar objection for a Union politician. In his guest contribution, he turns against the GroKo-Geschwurbel of immigration. Immigration is the right word. Immigrants are part of it and they will change Germany.

MY EVENING

The recommendation for your closing time

Chris aka Christine and the Queens aka Héloise Letissier

Pardon to the victims of my desire: Like the bestseller "I Love Dick" as an album, that sounds like the new album by Christine and the Queens for our reviewer Julia Friese. Héloise Letissier delivers "Chris" extrovert pop, but with "lascivious synth-ease". A very good album - and three more new releases in the Awakened Column.
