The Russian Aviation Authority announced the resumption of traffic at 4 airports in Moscow after temporarily closing them in conjunction with a Ukrainian march attack on the city, and while a US official announced that his country agreed to send F-16 fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine, the Washington Post reported that the US intelligence assessment indicates that the Ukrainian counterattack will not enable it to achieve its goal of cutting the land bridge between Russia and Crimea.

Russian authorities said the Ukrainian drone changed course after it was targeted by air defense weapons, and landed on a non-residential building without causing any injuries.

Russia's Emergencies Ministry said a fire broke out in the cargo terminal of Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk and burned wooden platforms.

The ministry reported that the fire broke out on an area of one thousand three hundred square meters without announcing any deaths or injuries

In other field developments, the spokesman for the center forces of the Russian army, Alexander Savchuk, said that his forces repelled six attacks by Ukrainian forces in the direction of Svatov and Krasno Lyman, and bombed centers and command and observation sites of Ukrainian forces in several regions.

The Russian Defense Ministry also confirmed that two Russian warships thwarted a Ukrainian attack with a drone boat near Crimea on Thursday, noting that they fired on and destroyed the boat before it reached its target southwest of Sevastopol in the Black Sea.

It said its forces targeted positions of Ukrainian forces towards Kobyansk, while the eastern forces of the Russian army announced that they had foiled an attempt to reinforce and replace Ukrainian forces on the Urogine front.

Russia's defence ministry released photos it said were of artillery troops targeting Ukrainian military installations, infrastructure and equipment. The ministry also released photos it said were of targeting Ukrainian forces as they tried to advance towards Seversk before the operation was thwarted.

Ukrainian General Staff spokesman Andrei Kovalev said the attack carried out by Russian forces in the direction of Uruguay in the Donetsk province had failed.

Kovalev confirmed that Ukrainian forces had also thwarted Russian advances in the vicinity of the city of Kobyansk in Kharkiv province.

Ukrainian forces said they had carried out air strikes on Russian military sites and equipment, as well as Russian air defense missile systems, ammunition depots and an electronic warfare station.

Ukraine's Southern Operations Command released photos it said were of the destruction of a Russian boat while trying to land amphibious on the west bank of the Dnieper River in Ukraine's southeastern Kherson province. The Southern Operations Command said the Ukrainian army carried out the mission with suicide drones.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesman Yuri Ignat said Russia's talk that it was the one producing its drones was an attempt by Moscow to deflect suspicion of Iran, which provides Russian forces with witness drones.

F-16s

In a related development, Denmark announced it had received U.S. approval to send F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine once the Ukrainian pilots were trained.

A U.S. official said Secretary of State Antony Blinken had sent letters to his Danish and Dutch counterparts reiterating Washington's full support for the F-16 transfer to Ukraine. In his speech, Blinken stressed that Washington's approval to send fighter jets to Ukraine would allow Kiev to take full advantage of its new capabilities once the training of the first group of pilots is completed.

In his speeches, Blinken said it "remains vital that Ukraine be able to defend itself against Russia's continued aggression and violation of its sovereignty."

Ukraine has aggressively sought U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets to help it counter Russian air superiority.

Ukraine announced on Thursday that it had received from Germany the Eris-T anti-aircraft missile system to strengthen its air defenses.

The director of the Ukrainian presidential office, Andrei Yermak, said on social media that thanks to this system, Ukraine's airspace will be better protected against Russian attacks.

In Berlin, the German government published an updated list of new military equipment it provided to Ukraine, including two launchers for the short-range version of the Iris-T air defense system.

The list also included 10 GO-12 ground surveillance radars, heavy trucks and more than 4,<> smoke bombs.

U.S. Assessment

In a related context, the Washington Post quoted informed sources that the assessment of US intelligence on Ukraine indicates that the counter-offensive by Ukrainian forces will not enable them to achieve their goal of cutting the land bridge between Russia and Crimea.

According to the US intelligence assessment, Ukrainian forces have succeeded in advancing on several axes and achieved gradual gains, but have not yet succeeded in penetrating the main line of defense of Russian forces.

The Washington Post reported that a senior administration official revealed that the problem is breaching the main line of defense of Russian forces, and it is unlikely that F-6 fighter jets or long-range missiles will be a crucial remedy for this dilemma.
