• Events Arrested in Malaga for causing an accident, driving under the influence of substances and without a license, and abandoning his injured wife

Agents of the National Police have arrested five people – two in Malaga and three in Denmark – members of a criminal group dedicated to drug trafficking linked to the motorcycle gang the Hells Angels (Hells Angels).

The members of this organization – members or aspirants to join this band would have introduced into Denmark more than 3.5 tons of hashish from Morocco, as confirmed by police sources on Saturday. The drug, which had its first stop in Europe in Spain, was moved to this Scandinavian country in transport of live animals and then distributed among traffickers on a medium and small scale.

The police investigations began as a result of an investigation initiated by the Special Crimes Unit of Denmark (NSK) a few years ago in relation to this criminal organization dedicated, among others, to the distribution of drugs in the city of Copenhagen and in surrounding towns.

As a result of this investigation, the agents of the National Police verified in December 2022 the presence in Marbella of two members of the organization, a Danish citizen – former member of the Hell's Angels – and an aspiring biker gang. These two individuals were in charge of contacting hashish suppliers in Morocco, organizing their transfer to Spain and then preparing their shipment to Denmark.

Both members of the group were therefore considered to be High Value Targets by the Danish authorities. In addition, they had a history in Spain, where they had been arrested in 2022 in relation to a settling of accounts between this Danish criminal organization and a Polish one. Likewise, they were aware of other arrests for drug trafficking and crimes associated with drug trafficking.

In this police operation, which has been carried out jointly by the National Police, the NSK of the Danish police and EUROPOL within the framework of EMPACT (European Multidisciplinary Platform against Criminal Threats), 59,000 euros have been seized in Spain and hashish in Denmark, in addition to numerous computer and telephone material used by the organization as a security measure for its communications.

Through the EMPACT platform, European Union (EU) Member States, national agencies and other EU partners work closely together to tackle major criminal threats in the area, including trafficking in cannabis, heroin and cocaine, through joint operational actions designed to disrupt the criminal networks that underpin them, their structures and business models.
