UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Istanbul with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as part of a working visit, the Emirates News Agency said.
The Turkish presidency said that President Erdogan met with bin Zayed at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul, and discussed with him bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in all fields.
In a tweet published on Saturday evening in Arabic, Turkish and English, the president of the United Arab Emirates said that he discussed with the Turkish president the strengthening of strategic relations between their countries.
"The UAE is keen to deepen cooperation with its friends to support peace and prosperity in the region and the world," he said.
Anadolu news agency reported that bin Zayed will watch the Champions League final at Istanbul's Ataturk Olympic Stadium.
