An explosion injured 6 members of the cast of the film "Gladiator 2".

The British newspaper "Mail Online" described the incident as terrifying, after a huge ball of fire flew to injure a number of crew members present at the time of filming, and chaos prevailed on site.

The British newspaper "The Sun" reported that expectations indicate that a gas leak caused the accident.

Six production crew members were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries described as not serious, while none of the actors involved in the film were injured.

A spokesman for Paramount said in a statement that safety and medical services teams on set in Morocco were able to work quickly, and the injured received the necessary care immediately, and their condition has already stabilized.

The film takes place in its first part in the era of the Roman Empire, where Caesar Marcus Aurelius tries to hand over his powers to the commander of the armies, but his son Commodus kills him before carrying out his mission and the son becomes Caesar of Rome to succeed his father.

The film had a budget of $103 million and grossed nearly $460 million at the global box office, was nominated for more than one Academy Award and won more than one award, including Best Actor for Russell Crowe and Best Picture.

Scott's great success in creating masterpieces like "The Gladiator" was no stranger to him, as he is a prolific filmmaker and has produced many successful works such as "Alien" (1979), "Blade Runner" (1982), "Thelma & Louise" (1991) and "Black Hawk Down" (2001).

David Scarpa wrote the screenplay for Gladiator 2 and previously collaborated with Scott as a writer on the 2017 film All the Money in the World.
