Macao, 6 Jun (ZXS) -- The "1th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Summit Forum" opened in Macao on 14 June. The forum was co-hosted by the China International Contractors Association and the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute. More than 60,800 representatives from more than 3000 units in more than 10 countries and regions participated in the conference, doubling the number of participants compared with the previous session. During the forum, a total of two thematic forums and <> parallel forums were set up to give full play to the professional functions of the platform and deepen the exchange and docking of international infrastructure.
This year, the organizers of the forum held a professional exhibition for the first time to showcase the achievements of international cooperation in various industries on the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road". In addition, in addition to continuing to exhibit units in the Guangdong-Macao Intensive Co-operation Zone in Hengqin, <> Macao enterprises and institutions participated in the exhibition for the first time this year, reflecting the increased participation of Macao trade.
Guo Tingting, Vice Minister of Commerce of China, said at the opening ceremony of the forum that the historical trend of world multi-polarization and economic globalization is unstoppable, and digital, intelligent and green development has added new impetus to international infrastructure investment. Countries have vigorously developed infrastructure and boosted their economies, creating new opportunities for international infrastructure cooperation. At the same time, the world has entered a new period of turbulence and change, which has also brought new challenges to global infrastructure development. To this end, she suggested that all parties adhere to openness and inclusiveness, adhere to innovation-driven, adhere to green development, adhere to win-win cooperation, further explore the potential of cooperation, and create a better tomorrow.
On the first day of the Forum, the "Report on the Infrastructure Development Index of the Belt and Road Countries (2023)" and the "Report on the Infrastructure Development Index of Portuguese-speaking Countries and the Achievements of Macao's Participation in the Joint Construction of the Belt and Road" were released for the first time, and two thematic forums and the "<>th China-Latin America Infrastructure Cooperation Forum" were held.
Present at the opening ceremony were Zheng Xincong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Li Wai Nong, Representative of the Chief Executive of the Macao SAR and Secretary for Economy and Finance of the Macao SAR Government, Liu Hsienfa, Commissioner of the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Macao Special Administrative Region, Gao Kaixian, President of the Legislative Council of the Macao Special Administrative Region, envoys from many countries in China, and representatives of people from all walks of life in Macao.
