Turkish media reported that all members of the central committee of the opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) submitted their resignations on Thursday in light of the results of the presidential and parliamentary elections.

According to the same sources, party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who lost in the presidential election to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accepted all resignations following Thursday's meeting of the committee at the party's headquarters in the capital, Ankara.

The meeting of the Central Committee headed by Kılıçdaroğlu lasted 5 hours continuously, and is the first meeting at the level of the CHP leadership after the elections.

The party seeks to renew its leadership and develop a road map for the next stage after losing its president - the candidate of the opposition People's Alliance - in the presidential elections, in addition to the decline in the party's tally in the parliamentary elections when the seats won by the candidates on its lists are excluded from the parties allied with it.
