The head of the troops of the Russian RKhBZ, Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, said that the specialists of the Russian Ministry of Defense, together with representatives of the FSB and the Rosselkhoznadzor, studied the territories of the Falz-Fein Biosphere Reserve in the Kherson region, as well as documents that confirmed the selection and transfer of biomaterials abroad.
According to Kirillov, the tasks of the laboratory were to collect and transfer strains of especially dangerous infections to the Pentagon, study their impact on the biosituation in the region and find out the ability of these pathogens to cause epidemics by analogy with COVID-19.
"I would like to emphasize once again that the Pentagon's steps to expand its military-biological presence in various regions of the world significantly increase the level of biothreats," the military leader stressed.
Kirillov called for an independent international investigation into the facts of US military biological activities.
Earlier, Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said that Russia should counter US attempts to prepare and unleash a biological war against it and other countries.
In mid-April, the parliamentary commission to investigate the activities of US biological laboratories in Ukraine published a report on the results of its work, in which it proposes to create a mechanism to contain epidemiological risks.
