The majority of the donated material is material that would otherwise have been discarded, but a couple of the items have a value estimated at a total of about SEK 330,000.

"It may sound cold, but the body bags are fantastic, so you can treat your deceased soldiers with dignity," says Zenek Podsedkowski, a volunteer for the Blue and Yellow Car.

The background to the generosity was a decision last week by the regional board.

This is not the first time that Region Blekinge has donated medical supplies to the war-torn country. In connection with the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion, materials left over during the pandemic were donated.
