The head of the Kuwaiti relief medical delegation, Dr. Omar Al-Thuwaini, said that the health situation inside the Gaza Strip hospitals is very catastrophic, the health system is on the verge of collapse, patients are lying in the hospital alleys, and medical supplies and tools are very scarce.

In special statements to Al Jazeera Net, Al-Thuwaini added that his medical team began performing several operations since their arrival in the Gaza Strip, and the injuries were in the eyes, limbs, and in multiple areas of the body. The patients were in a very complex health situation, as they were not provided with real health care, and they remained in the alleys of hospitals. Vulnerable to pollution and diseases.

A team from the Kuwait Medical Relief Society arrived the day before Monday in the Gaza Strip, via the Rafah land crossing on the border with Egypt. The team includes 14 individuals, including 10 doctors in various surgical specialties, in addition to medical devices, tools and supplies.

Inhumane situation

Regarding the conditions inside the Gaza Strip, the head of the Kuwaiti delegation said that the field situation in Rafah is inhumane. People are crowded in the streets and roads, which is a very tragic situation, and on this narrow area of land there are more than a million displaced people from the north in the absence of proper nutrition and proper shelter. Which leads to the spread of infectious diseases.

Urologist Omar Al-Hunaidi, a member of the Kuwaiti relief delegation, said that today, Wednesday alone, he performed 13 surgical operations in Kuwait Hospital for a number of injured people.

Al-Huneidi sent a message to the doctors of the world that the people of Gaza need all cooperation and assistance, and the health situation requires everyone who stands with the people of the Gaza Strip, and he called on everyone who can reach Gaza to bring with them medical tools and supplies that the medical sector is sorely lacking.
