Racist attacks
Despite the fact that the eleven-year-old has received the greatest amount of love and support in social media, there have also been racist attacks that have received a lot of attention among celebrities and politicians. Among others, Magdalena Andersson (S), Ebba Busch (KD) and Muharrem Demirok (C) have shown their support.
"We think this is terrible. The Mayflower is for all children in Sweden, says Åse Henell.
Will pay taxes
The sales success has created completely new challenges for Majblomman in terms of tax issues. In addition to the collection for the Mayflower, Murhaf himself will earn a large sum of money and the national association is in discussion with the family to ensure that the tax payment is right for everyone involved.
"It is clear that you will have to pay tax on this. This is completely new for Majblomman, we have never experienced it before, says Åse Henell.
