"The mood here is in support of the war and the supply of even more weapons to Ukraine," TASS quoted him as saying at a meeting with Hungarian journalists.

Szijjártó recalled that Budapest's position is to end the Ukrainian conflict as soon as possible.

"Therefore, what is needed is not the supply of weapons, but a ceasefire, peace negotiations and a peace agreement that will save lives," the minister said.

Earlier, the Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament, Dora Duro, said that in order for Ukraine to join NATO without the risks of armed conflict, Russia's approval in the format of an agreement is necessary.

She stressed that Budapest does not yet see any reason that would allow the country to support the expansion of NATO at the expense of Ukraine.
