The new chapter of 'Nosotros', CaixaBank's programme in which we all fit, focuses on rural areas. These are municipalities with less than 30,000 inhabitants and a population density of less than 100 inhabitants per square kilometer, according to a report published by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

The protagonists deny the term Spain emptied "because many of us live there". "And before me, my father, and before that, his," they say. In addition, they make it clear that rural areas "are modernizing very fast and personal and professional opportunities are appearing," says one of the participants in the space. Which attracts new neighbors.

A couple says they have been living in a small rural town for about a year. "We have been very surprised by the momentum in new technologies in the agricultural sector, for example, where we work. And with the support of AgroBank, it has been a little easier for us. In addition, the people are very close and from the first moment they have made us feel one more, "they explain.

'We' aims to show, with data and stories, that, being close to people, whether through training, financial inclusion, economic development of rural areas, or education in financial literacy, it is easier for people to achieve what they set out to do.

Coverage and commitment

CaixaBank is committed to being close to people. Responsibility assumed through the most extensive network of offices in Spain, with more than 3,800 branches, and with presence in all provinces. It is present in more than 2,200 municipalities, is the only bank with a branch in 470 towns and is committed to not abandoning any where it operates. In addition, about 40% of the offices are located in towns with less than 10,000 inhabitants.

The bank has the most extensive ATM network in the country, with more than 11,600 terminals; and also offers a service of 17 office mobiles, operating in 626 municipalities in Castilla y León, Valencia, La Rioja, Castilla-La Mancha, Community of Madrid and Andalusia. These travel 43,000 kilometers on average per month and serve twelve provinces of these six communities in which about 308,000 inhabitants reside.

Proximity and specialization

CaixaBank's proximity is joined by specialization, such as with AgroBank, the division focused on the bank's agri-food sector. Its proposal combines the development of the best products, services and tools adapted to the needs of farmers, ranchers or cooperatives, as well as close and comprehensive advice, not only with financial support, but also offers joint planning, training assistance and specialization to offer a really useful service.

CaixaBank's more than 3,000 agricultural managers have extensive knowledge of the sector and the risk teams specialise in customer needs and their financial flows. AgroBank has financed the entire agri-food chain with 29,479 million euros in 2022, representing an increase of 95.6% compared to the previous year. The entity closed the 2022 financial year with more than 510,000 agricultural customers, so that one in two farmers and ranchers in Spain work with CaixaBank.
