"The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Economy are preparing to submit on Wednesday at a government meeting a proposal to ban the import of a number of products from Ukraine for an indefinite period with the exception of transit goods," TASS quoted him as saying.

He noted that at present there is unfair competition from Ukraine.

Earlier, the EU considered illegal the decisions of European countries to ban the import of Ukrainian agricultural products.

On April 17, it became known that Slovakia would suspend the import of grain and some other products from Ukraine indefinitely.

On April 15, Poland and Hungary announced a ban on the import of agricultural products from Ukraine after farmers in European countries faced losses due to overstocking of the markets of these states with Ukrainian grain.
