As the fighting in Sudan ends between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, it is clear that the battles between the two sides were concentrated in five main locations: the city of Meroe, the capital Khartoum, Omdurman, El Fasher and El Obeid.

Meroe City

The city of Meroe, 330 kilometers north of Khartoum, contains an important air base for the Sudanese army, and there are Egyptian forces that conduct military exercises with the Sudanese army from time to time.

The Rapid Support Forces consider that the Egyptian forces in Meroe are occupation forces, according to some RSF commanders, and therefore carried out a military operation on Meroe and announced their control of the entire city, including Merowe airport, although the army forces said that they had regained control of Merowe airport.

The importance of Merowe Airport stems from the fact that it covers air operations in northern Sudan and is considered one of the country's newest airports, and the deployment of the Serig Support Forces was dozens of military vehicles in the vicinity of the airport, and the air base is considered the first spark to erupt the dispute with the army.

Both sides have claimed control of the airport and air base after heavy clashes amid assertion that fighting continues.

Capital Khartoum

The capital of Sudan, which he controls, will naturally decide the battle.

The Rapid Support Forces launched a military operation towards the city of Khartoum, and the battles are taking place in particular in the locations of the main headquarters such as the General Headquarters, the Republican Palace and Khartoum Airport, and this sensitive square is estimated at an area of about 16 square kilometers and is considered decisive in the battles.

Khartoum's airport, Sudan's largest airport, witnessed clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, causing the suspension of internal and external flights at the airport amid conflicting information about who actually controls Khartoum airport.

Meanwhile, the vicinity of the headquarters of the General Command of the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF), which is located in the center of Khartoum, is still witnessing sporadic clashes between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), amid confirmation from the army command that the headquarters and the rest of the strategic military facilities are still under its control.

Omdurman City

The importance of Omdurman stems from the fact that it contains the headquarters of Sudanese television and therefore whoever controls it will have the ability to announce its statements.

State television was briefly interrupted after gunfire was heard inside the building, while the broadcast control room inside the television was bombed.

Television broadcasting has been interrupted and no official statements have been broadcast on television so far, neither from the army nor from the RSF, although fighting continues in the vicinity of Sudanese television.

The army spokesman confirmed that the RSF was heavily present at the state television headquarters.

El Fasher-Darfur

It is the capital of North Darfur State and has the roots of the Rapid Support Command.

El Obeid City

It includes El Obeid airport, which is the main airport in North Kordofan state, and battles are taking place in the vicinity of the airport without resolution so far.

Clashes there between the RSF and the army left three people dead and eight wounded, with the RSF asserting it had taken control of the airport.
