"A huge amount of work has been done to reduce emissions and achieve the goal. But we can state that we have reached 35 percent of our goal. Now Stefan Erikson and I must be clear that we will not achieve the goal, says Kristina Edlund (S), chairman of the municipal executive board.

Postponed to 2045

The municipal commissioner points as far as 20 years ahead in time before the goal can be achieved. Despite this, the Moderates believe that it is a priority issue.

– Our message is that this is a priority issue and we continue the work to reach net-zero emissions by 2045, says Stefan Erikson (M), municipal commissioner.

Among other things, the municipality will cooperate more with the business community to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

"Many of the entrepreneurs in Linköping are responsible for some of the emissions. Then we also see that you have to work with transport and energy, but also that it should be easy for Linköping residents to make climate-smart choices in their everyday lives, says Kristina Edlund (S).
