The logging that was supposed to be the starting point for the reconstruction of the Fagrabäck interchange in Växjö was quickly interrupted when a climate protester stood in the way of the forest machines.

The protester who was charged with arbitrary proceedings and for having temporarily prevented the felling of the forest is now acquitted in Växjö district court.

The municipality demanded damages

Växjö municipality demanded damages of SEK 2,850, but according to the district court, the action did not mean any financial damage to the municipality.

According to the woman, she stood in the way of a machine but not for more than 25 minutes.

The municipality's claim for damages is rejected and the woman is acquitted.

Earlier, another unidentified protester was convicted of arbitrary proceedings.

During the action, the woman locked herself on one of the forest machines.
