"I wear a cap because I'm sick," he said while he was Pascal Praud's guest, without specifying the nature of this disease but adding: "Me, in front of my mirror, the chemo look, I do not want it."

"I don't want anyone to see that I'm sick, so I'm a little less sick when I have my cap," continued the nephew of former President François Mitterrand, explaining that he had been fighting his illness "for three months".

"Everyone knows it's a very tough fight. But there is no other solution: it is walk or die. I am told that I have a lot of courage but no. If you love life, you keep going," he said.

Frédéric Mitterrand paid tribute to the personalities who decided to break the silence around cancer, citing the "formidable" example of singer Florent Pagny, highly publicized and who announced at the end of 2022 that he would return to the stage for a series of festivals this year.

"I think this boy is great. First of all, as an artist, he is a very remarkable person. And I think it's great that he says things and places his fight as he does," added the former Minister of Culture, who published Thursday an essay entitled "Brad" (XO editions), where he tells his passion for the American actor Brad Pitt.
