In pouring rain throughout the match at the Etihad Stadium, the Citizens made a display against the Bavarians, thanks to a defence well in place in the first half and cracking Bayern in the second half of the match.

Up front, Pep Guardiola's men were devilishly effective, including a magnificent curled strike from Rodri, right-handed, but who whipped the ball with his left foot depositing it in the opposite window (27th).

Upamecano in great difficulty

Inside as soon as the dressing room returned and in great difficulty, Bayern's French international defender Dayot Upamecano was responsible for City's second goal.

Coming to put pressure on the defender, Jack Grealish recovered the ball, leaned on Haaland, who delivered a left-foot center to Bernardo Silva, regaining the lead (70th).

A decisive passer, Haaland became a scorer a few minutes later, with a cross volley with his right foot (77th).

Bayern will be able to thank their goalkeeper Yann Sommer, who avoided the total sinking of his team. Even if he was not imperial all game, the goalkeeper made several valuable saves, including a magnificent flight.

In addition to several strikes from Leroy Sané and a good start to the second half, Munich have created few chances and will have a lot to do next Wednesday to hope for qualification.

In Tuesday night's other match, Inter also put a foot in the semi-finals, winning with great mastery at Benfica.

The Italians, who have not reached the semi-finals since 2010, brought home victory for Portugal thanks to a goal by Nicolo Barella at the start of the second half (1-0, 51st) and a penalty converted by Romelu Lukaku (2-0, 82nd).

Author of a good first half, where the defense was well in place, Benfica cracked in the second, lacking lucidity.

More solid and less rushed, the Italians could find AC Milan in the last square, before AC Milan-Napoli on Wednesday.
