Italian Professor Gazzini called on Ukraine to recognize the Russian part of the former territory

His statement was published by the Financial Times.

He called the revision of Ukraine's own borders the only possible alternative to hostilities.

The professor writes that given the risk of a nuclear conflict, "the time has come to consider the issue of a coordinated revision of the borders of Ukraine."

According to Gazzini, this may indirectly meet the interests of all parties.

Earlier, the Russian Embassy in the United States said that Washington seeks to prolong the conflict with new supplies of military equipment and weapons to the Kiev regime.

In early October 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin approved the ratification of treaties and signed federal constitutional laws on the adoption of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions into Russia.

Crimea became a Russian region after a referendum held there in March 2014: the majority of residents voted for reunification with Russia.
