"On April 3, on the territory of the garage array of the city of Kodinsk in a pit at a depth of 5.5 m, operatives ... the skeletal remains of the girls were found, as well as their personal belongings - a watch, two sets of shoes, items of clothing, "the statement said.
It is specified that the search for the remains of the wanted was conducted for 9 days on the territory of more than 900 sq.m.
According to the IC, the girls, aged 16 and 17, died in June 2000, when they came to the garage of an acquaintance with a demand to return the monetary debt issued to him. During the conversation, a conflict occurred and the man killed the girls with several blows of a sledgehammer, after which he threw their bodies into a pit and fled.
The unsolved case was unraveled only after the man was detained on March 24 of this year and confessed to the murder during interrogation.
