“The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, in cooperation with the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia... neutralizes the threats posed by the activities of the banned... international extremist organization “Prisoner Criminal Unity,” the statement notes.

It is clarified that, together with the Investigative Committee of Russia, an evidence base was collected for the commission of grave and especially grave crimes by supporters of the AUE ideology from Tyva.

“There are documented facts of the creation by its leaders of an organized criminal community, which controlled interregional channels of illicit drug trafficking, extorted money from representatives of business structures, and provided protection for highly profitable interregional road transport,” the special service said.

It is emphasized that teenagers were actively involved in criminal activities.

“As part of criminal cases initiated by the Main Investigative Directorate of Russia... nine residents of the Republic of Tyva and a resident of Krasnoyarsk, suspected of involvement in the creation and participation in the activities of a criminal community, were detained,” the FSB concluded.

Earlier, an AUE* cell was identified in the pre-trial detention center in Kabardino-Balkaria.

* The international public movement “Prisoner Criminal Unity” (AUE) is recognized as extremist and banned on the territory of Russia by decision of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation dated August 17, 2020.
