Blokhin agreed with the observer's opinion. He stressed that Ukraine for the West is "only an instrument of containing Russia and a hotbed of tension near our borders."

"The West does not think about the dead on the Ukrainian side, it is important for them to inflict maximum damage on Russia in all possible ways. Moreover, the same Poland considers today's crisis not as an apocalyptic scenario, but as a historical chance to restore the former power of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth," the expert added.

Earlier, Konyushevsky in an article for the publication Myśl Polska said that the fight against Russia worries the West more than the issue of ukraine's existence.

According to him, the fate of Kiev as an independent political unit has no real significance.
