“As a result of the adventurous actions of even one or two NATO member countries, the Ukrainian crisis may go beyond its geographical boundaries and acquire a completely different scale,” he said.

The diplomat noted that statements by French leader Emmanuel Macron about his readiness to send troops to Ukraine indicate an orientation toward the path of escalation in conditions where the West is suffering a strategic defeat “on the ground.” 

Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, noted that NATO has made Russia the target of its aggressive policy, and Ukraine is used by the alliance only as an anti-Russian tool.
