According to him, the management of the reserve, in an ultimatum form and without explanation, announced the termination of the lease agreement and demanded the eviction of the monks.

“Such requirements have nothing to do with Ukrainian legislation,” STRANA.ua quoted Clement as saying.

He stressed that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church cannot be evicted from the monastery, as there are no legal grounds for this.

Earlier it became known that the National Reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra" obliged the monks of the canonical UOC to leave the buildings of the reserve until March 29.

Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media of the Moscow Patriarchate, called these demands the apogee of lawlessness.
