Putin: sending 150 thousand reservists to the front in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin said there are now a total of 300,000 Russian reservists mobilized, and half of them have already been sent to the combat zone in Ukraine.

Putin said on Wednesday at a meeting with representatives of the Human Rights Council he appointed that the other nearly 150,000 personnel are "reserve combat units" stationed at military bases.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced after the end of mobilization at the end of October that about 82,000 men had been transferred to the front.

Putin also tried to address fears among his compatriots about preparing for a new wave of mobilization, saying: "As for the state and the Ministry of Defense, there is absolutely no need for this from today."
