A 40-year-old man appeared before the Clermont-Ferrand criminal court (Puy-de-Dôme) for stealing packages he was supposed to deliver, according to

La Montagne

.

The investigation began after the discovery of 66 empty packaging in a dumpster, near a supermarket in Cébazat, on February 16.

Arrested in full delivery

La Poste filed a complaint and the police quickly became interested in this man who, at the time, was a driver in a transport company subcontracted by the Post Office.

He was finally arrested on March 10 when he was in full delivery.

During the search of his home, the investigators discovered many objects, some of which were still packaged and correspond to undelivered packages.

The defendant, dismissed because of this case, assured during the hearing that he had not resold anything and that he had not made any profit related to these packages.

He was finally given a three-month suspended prison sentence and will have to pay 1,084 euros to La Poste for the damage suffered.
