Amidst the challenge of responding to the ``2024 problem'' in logistics, a demonstration experiment was conducted at an apartment building in Tokyo in which a delivery company uses a robot to deliver packages to an apartment complex.

This demonstration experiment was conducted at an apartment building in Tokyo's Koto Ward by a corporate group made up of four companies, including a major real estate company.

Amid concerns about a labor shortage due to stricter overtime work regulations for truck drivers in April, this group is developing technology to reduce the burden on delivery companies by using robots.

On the 28th, we confirmed whether the robot could automatically deliver packages brought by a delivery company from the entrance of the apartment to the apartment. The robot arrived in front of the apartment and called residents with voice guidance to notify them of the arrival of the package. I was letting you know.

By linking the robot with the systems inside the apartment, it will be possible to automatically open doors and ride elevators.

According to the group, when delivering multiple packages to large-scale tower apartments, the delivery company has to go back and forth between the entrance and the rooms many times for security reasons, and the use of robots is expected to reduce this burden.

Eita Suzuki of Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate, which is conducting the demonstration experiment, said, ``Delivery boxes are being installed, but in apartment complexes with many households, they quickly fill up and redeliveries are required. "This is the current situation. I hope that the use of robots will lead to solving problems."
