Thousands of new jobs:

When you hear news like this, you have to reflexively rub your eyes.

Can there be what you think you read?

yes it can

Lufthansa wants to create 20,000 new jobs in Germany by the end of 2023.

This will reverse large parts of the job cuts initiated by the Corona crisis.

We are primarily looking for technicians, IT specialists, lawyers and check-in staff.

Pilots and flight attendants are also to be reinstated.

There are a total of 45 different job descriptions.

The new jobs are not only created at Lufthansa itself, but also at subsidiaries, such as the airline Eurowings.

However, the group is leaving unanswered what effects this will have on the Frankfurt site, as our author Daniel Schleidt reports.

Money for baths:

Swimming pools can save family peace.

Do not you believe?

Then let's just take the past weekend for clarification.

Cold, wet, uncomfortable.

What to do with children whose energy seems to be infinite and who are walking across tables and benches by noon at the latest.

For many families, a visit to the swimming pool is a lifeline on rainy days.

More and more often, however, municipal baths are threatened with closure.

Running a swimming pool is expensive, especially these days.

Luxury that not every city can afford.

In the Main-Kinzig district, solutions are currently being sought as to how the 14 indoor pools can remain open.

One, namely the Bad in Erlensee, is currently threatened with closure.

And the financing of many other pools is also considered uncertain.

The circle wants

especially with a view to school sports, prevent swimming pools from dying out.

District Administrator Thorsten Stolz went public with the proposal to support the cities and municipalities that also make the indoor swimming pools available for school sports.

The district as the school authority is ready to increase the fee for swimming lessons.

A second push is also intended to secure funding.

The district and municipalities want the state government to contribute to the financing of the pools - with funds from the municipal financial equalization system.

Our author Luise Glaser-Lotz summarizes the discussion.

Protest in the Audimax:

They didn't stick together.

But they still didn't want to give way.

In Marburg, students occupied the largest lecture hall at Philipps University, the Audimax, last week.

They have now taken down their tents and rolled up their banners.

Their protest action has nevertheless left its mark.

Albeit not visible.

But the university has been discussing it ever since.

For example, about the question: how much disobedience is morally legitimate in order to get things moving?

With their protest action, the activists campaigned for more climate protection and demanded that the topic appear in the curricula.

Even if many on campus support the basic idea, criticism is raised.

Climate researcher Georg Völker expresses concerns: "Polarizing actions can lead to us losing the majority.

And that, in his view, is exactly what is needed to advance the climate movement.

Our author Carlota Brandis went to Marburg and asked around at the university.

And in addition
