A military official announced that four Iraqi soldiers were killed, yesterday morning, in an armed attack by the terrorist organization "Daesh", which targeted an army barracks in the north of the city of Kirkuk.

The official stated that the attack took place at around five o'clock in the morning, and targeted an Iraqi army barracks northeast of the city of Kirkuk on the outskirts of the city of Sulaymaniyah in the autonomous region of Iraqi Kurdistan.

Security sources said that the terrorist organization "ISIS" seized the soldiers' weapons and communication equipment, and left the place.

The governor of Kirkuk, Rakan Saeed al-Jubouri, told The Associated Press that the attack "came as a result of negligence and lack of interest on the part of the security forces."

He added that the site of the attack is an area where power is distributed between the Iraqi army and the Kurdish Peshmerga forces, so there is no coordination, and the terrorist organization ISIS took advantage of that.
