Poland is reviewing the activation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and NATO mutual agreement clause in connection with the explosion of a missile in a border town, killing two people, and raising military readiness.

Polish government spokesman Pyotr Müller said he was considering invoking a clause allowing NATO members to consult mutually in the event of a threat to their security, Reuters reported.

Regarding this, NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said on Twitter that he had an urgent phone call with Polish President Andrzej Duda.

"The situation is being monitored and allies are in close consultation," Stoltenberg said.
