The King of Jordan discussed with Lavrov the situation in southern Syria

On Thursday, Jordan's King Abdullah II discussed with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov the Syrian crisis, stressing the importance of "stabilizing stability in Syria, especially in southern Syria."

According to a statement issued by the Royal Court, the King and Lavrov discussed the Syrian crisis in Amman, and the Jordanian monarch stressed "the importance of stabilizing stability in Syria, especially in southern Syria," which witnesses from time to time infiltration and drug smuggling into Jordan.

The two sides discussed "the burdens that Jordan faces as a result of the Syrian crisis, including organized drug smuggling attempts."

The king stressed, "the importance of activating efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, in a way that preserves the unity of Syria's land and people, and guarantees the voluntary and safe return of refugees."

For his part, Safadi said during a joint press conference with Lavrov after talks between them, "We discussed the Syrian crisis, especially the situation in southern Syria, and the dangers inherent in the event of instability that deepens the suffering of our brothers and threatens our national security."
