It is noted that the foreign ministers of the two countries pointed to the need for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to resolve the humanitarian problems of the local population.
In addition, Lavrov and Miqdad emphasized the inadmissibility of provocative actions leading to the expansion of escalation to other countries in the region, in particular Syria, Lebanon and Yemen.
Previously, Lavrov said that resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is possible only through direct dialogue.
