He noted that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced that Finland and Sweden fulfilled Turkey's requirements for joining NATO, despite the fact that the Turkish Foreign Ministry reported the opposite.

“NATO considers itself entitled to speak on behalf of its members, even when the positions of these members diverge diametrically,” Kosachev wrote on Telegram.

According to him, this testifies to the "explosiveness of the policy of the Cold War Alliance, now not only outside, but also inside."

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that Finland and Sweden have met Turkey's requirements for NATO membership, so it's time to accept them into the alliance.

According to Stoltenberg, almost all NATO countries agreed on the accession of Sweden and Finland to the alliance.

At the same time, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Finland and Sweden have not yet fulfilled all the conditions for Ankara to join NATO.
