In addition to former President

Alpha Condé

, there are exactly 187 other senior dignitaries of his presidency, ministers, advisers, general managers of public companies or deputies, who are the sights of the military junta.

But some names come up twice.

Among the accused, we find the former Prime Minister Ibrahima Kassory Fofana, who is in preventive detention, as well as no less than forty former ministers of Alpha Condé.

The military junta, which took power by force in September 2021, has made the

fight against corruption deemed endemic in Guinea

 one of its main battlegrounds.

Among these personalities targeted, some have been in preventive detention for several months, and the soldiers have taken care to freeze bank accounts, officially to avoid “

any concealment of financial evidence of possible economic embezzlement

 ”.

Alphonse Charles Wright has just taken a new step by ordering the public prosecutors, at the courts of Conakry and Kankan, to prosecute for "

presumed acts of corruption, illicit enrichment, money laundering, forgery and use of forgery in writing public, embezzlement of public funds and complicity

 ".

So far, justice has not yet specified the amounts allegedly misappropriated or laundered.

Alpha Condé, who ruled Guinea from 2010 to 2021, was already the subject of prosecution, in particular for assassinations, acts of torture and kidnappings during the bloody repression of demonstrations against his third term.

But he obtained a safe conduct which allowed him to

leave the country last May

.
