His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, affirmed that the UAE plays a prominent role in addressing critical regional challenges on the basis of strengthening solidarity and joint Arab action.

His Highness said in a speech during the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States at the summit level at its 31st regular session in Algeria, which concluded yesterday with Algeria's announcement that "the UAE's choice is that the slogan for this stage is (peace, recovery and prosperity), within an open regional and international framework."

In detail, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who headed the country's delegation to the Arab Summit in Algiers, stressed that the UAE plays a prominent role in addressing the critical challenges before us at the regional and international levels, on the basis of strengthening solidarity and joint Arab action, and giving priority to Resolving conflicts by peaceful means, giving priority to humanitarian relief, maintaining peace, addressing global health crises in a spirit of high solidarity, supporting women’s empowerment, emphasizing the role of youth in building nations, harnessing the potential of innovation and advanced technology, and developing the international system to combat extremism and terrorism.

His Highness said that in light of the unprecedented challenges facing our Arab countries and the world, we have an urgent need to intensify work, increase the pace of Arab coordination and cooperation, and solve the crises in the region, in order to spread hope, optimism, unity, peace and tolerance.
