“To date, 55 cases of methyl alcohol poisoning have been identified ... As of October 30, 2022, 17 people have died,” the ministry’s report says.
Cases of poisoning have been recorded in the provinces of Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas and Esmeraldas.
There are 33 people in regional hospitals.
