The U.S. government expressed condolences to South Korea in relation to the massacre in Itaewon, Seoul on the 29th (local time) and said it would provide necessary support.



White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said on Twitter, "It is heartbreaking to hear reports from Seoul.



He continued, "The United States is ready to provide any assistance South Korea needs."



British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also tweeted: "Our thoughts stand with all Koreans facing these very painful times and those responding now."
