“From today, the Russian side suspends the initiative for an indefinite period,” RIA Novosti quotes a fragment of a letter from Russian Permanent Representative Vasily Nebenzi to the UN Secretary General.

It is noted that the decision was made due to the fact that the Russian side, against the backdrop of attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, cannot ensure the safety of civilian ships sailing as part of the grain deal.

On the morning of October 29, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, led by British specialists, attacked ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships in Sevastopol using drones.

Later, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that Moscow was suspending its participation in the grain deal in connection with the attack on ships of the Black Sea Fleet and civilian ships.
