South Korea's military said it fired warning shots at a North Korean vessel earlier this morning after it crossed the maritime demarcation line to the west of the Korean Peninsula.


In response, the North Korean military announced that it had launched a rocket launcher early in the morning on the 24th, and the South Korean military is increasing its vigilance against the movements of the North Korean military.

According to an announcement by the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff, at around 3:42 am on the 24th, a North Korean merchant ship was set up by the United Nations Forces offshore about 27 kilometers northwest of Baengnyeong Island in the Yellow Sea on the west side of the Korean Peninsula. It means that you have crossed the boundary line.



The South Korean military fired warning shots and withdrew them from the area.



In response, the North Korean General Staff claimed that a South Korean ship had crossed the demarcation line, and at 5:15 a.m., 10 rocket launches were fired near the sea area and the South Korean ship was withdrawn. We announced that we took initial measures to make it happen.



North Korea does not recognize the maritime demarcation line set by the US-led United Nations forces.



South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff has criticized North Korea, saying, "It is an act that undermines peace and stability not only on the Korean Peninsula but also on the international community."
