North Korean leader Kim Jong-un inspected a shipyard and ordered the modernization of the navy's ships and equipment, stating that ``strengthening the navy is the most important issue.''

On the 2nd, the North Korean Workers' Party's official newspaper Rodong Sinmun reported that General Secretary Kim Jong Un toured a shipyard in the western city of Nampo.

In the released image, Kim is seen touring around the ships moored at the pier along with party officials responsible for weapons development and navy commanders.

North Korea has strongly opposed the deployment of American nuclear submarines to the Korean Peninsula, and Kim said, ``Strengthening the navy is the most important step in protecting maritime sovereignty and preparing for war.'' "This is a problem," he said, ordering the navy to modernize its ships and equipment.

Last September, North Korea unveiled the launch ceremony of a ``tactical nuclear attack submarine,'' and on January 28, North Korea confirmed that it was building a nuclear submarine.

During this inspection, General Secretary Kim gave instructions to accomplish the projects of the ``Five-Year National Defense Plan,'' which will be in its fourth year this year, and Korean media reported that it was related to the construction of nuclear submarines, which is included in the plan. I'm telling you that there is a possibility that this may be the case.

Meanwhile, South Korean intelligence agencies are on alert, pointing out that North Korea stole ship design materials such as drawings from a South Korean shipbuilding company in a cyber attack between August and September last year.
