An adviser to Ukrainian President Kirillo Tymoshenko said that more than a million people in Ukraine are without electricity, and local authorities in Kyiv confirmed that the strikes could leave the Ukrainian capital without electricity and heating for several days or weeks.

Yesterday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that its forces destroyed a depot containing 100,000 tons of fuel intended for Ukrainian aviation, as well as ammunition depots and an oil tank for Ukrainian military vehicles near the town of Smila in the Cherkassk region.
