The House committee investigating the deadly Jan. 6 riots subpoenaed former President Donald Trump on Friday for testimony and documents related to his actions related to the bloodshed.

He is accused of instigating the riots in the Capitol.

The date for the subpoena is set for November 14 - after the midterm elections.

"As demonstrated in our hearings, we have assembled overwhelming evidence, including from dozens of your former appointees and associates, that you personally orchestrated and oversaw a multi-pronged effort to overthrow the 2020 presidential election and impede the peaceful transfer of power," the committee said Trump in a letter sent with the subpoena.
