"Ready for it" .. Boris Johnson plans to run in the Conservative Party elections

In a sign of the planned Conservative leadership election after the sudden resignation of Prime Minister and party leader Liz Terrasse, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson declared he was "ready for it".

And according to one of his allies on Friday, Johnson said he would be returning to Britain from his Caribbean holiday to try to make an extraordinary return to the premiership.

Britain's BA Media news agency quoted Commerce Secretary James Duddridge as saying that the man his cabinet had ousted just six weeks ago had told him: "We'll do it."

The Conservative MP said Johnson would arrive on Saturday and take on the challenge, replacing Liz Truss as Conservative leader.

"I'm in touch with the president via WhatsApp," James said. "I spoke about him before he announced himself."

He explained that he "plans to return."

"I'm on my way back Dudridge," Johnson said. "We'll do it. I'm ready for it."
