Suspected thefts in the reserve: "People steal the wood that we put out"

- We get rid of wood at the fireplaces.

If it's full on Tuesday, it's already empty on Wednesday morning, says Mikael Lindén, conservationist in Södertälje.

He suspects that the high electricity prices and the lack of dry wood may be the reasons why the wood at the nature reserve is now disappearing.

Locks firewood to dry

Since two years ago, they have also been forced to lock up firewood that could previously be left outside to dry at Mora croft.

- If we take fresh logs, it really takes too long to dry inside, but we can't have it outside either, because then we'll just get rid of it, he says.
