US Senate committee approves $4.5 billion in military aid to Taiwan

In addition to the allocation of military assistance, the bill provides for the provision of credit guarantees to Taiwan for military purchases in the amount of up to $ 2 billion, as well as the assignment of the status of "the main US ally outside NATO."

Earlier, John Kirby, strategic communications coordinator at the White House National Security Council, said that the United States intends to supply Taiwan with weapons necessary to counter the threat "from the PRC."
