The hearing took place at the President's residence, in Riviera Cocody.
Alongside Alassane Ouattara, notably appeared Tiémoko Meyliet Koné, the Vice-President of the Republic, the Grand Chancellor Henriette Diabaté or Adama Bictogo, who chairs the National Assembly.
Albert Toikeusse Mabri signified his intention in his words "
to resume his place at the RHDP
".
"
I am very happy that the UDPCI is back home
," said Alassane Ouattara, while emphasizing the fact that the UDPCI was one of the founding members of the RHDP.
What place for him in the RHDP?
It remains to be clarified the exact place that the leader of this pivotal party will occupy.
Long Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Toikeusse Mabri was vice-president of the RHDP.
He had
slammed the door in August 2020
and
supported the opposition
which advocated a boycott of the last presidential election.
Today, the head of the UDPCI, strongly established in the west of the country and spiritual heir of Robert Guéï, returns with a fresh eye.
It also has eight deputies in the National Assembly.
“
It is a definite asset for the RHDP, one year before the regional elections
”, analyzes researcher Julien Kouao Geoffroy.
“
This merger
, continues this source,
makes it possible to thwart a possible alliance with the party of Laurent Gbagbo, also established in this region.
