Charles III gave his first televised address this Friday, the day after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, discussing his new royal title but also his children.

The king reiterated his love for his son Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle, settled across the Atlantic, in California.

King Charles III expressed on Friday, in his first televised address as sovereign after the death of Queen Elizabeth II, his "love" for his son Harry and his wife Meghan, whose break with the monarchy to settle in California rocked the royal family.

“I also want to express my love for Harry and Meghan as they continue to build their lives abroad,” said the sovereign, whose relations are, according to the British press, very degraded with his youngest son.

In this same speech given at 7:00 p.m. on television, King Charles III also mentioned his other son, Prince William, but also his late father, Prince Philip who died in April 2021 at the age of 99.

Prince Charles has notably declared that his life will "change" with his ascension to the throne.
