Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the decisions of the European Court of Human Rights, describing them as politicized and unfair when it comes to Turkey, and the opposite when it comes to major European countries such as France and Germany.

This came in a speech delivered by Erdogan today, Thursday, at the Presidential Complex in the capital, Ankara, during his participation in the opening ceremony of the new judicial year.

The speech focused on legal internal affairs, as the Turkish president considered that there are those who are trying with all their might to make the justice system in Turkey a victim of the dirty conspiracies of criminal gangs whose links can be guessed, he said.

Erdogan pledged that his government would take new steps to increase the level of satisfaction with judicial services and legal security, as well as facilitate access to justice, including simplifying judicial procedures, developing alternative solutions, and launching new projects to end procedures in a reasonable period and ensure that justice appears in a timely manner.

The Turkish president stressed that the Justice and Development Party has implemented important reforms during the past twenty years (since it came to power) in order to strengthen the concept of the rule of law in the country, as well as pay attention to issues of human rights and freedoms, women's rights, children's rights and the development of the justice system.
