“World Health”: 14,000 cases of chickenpox in 70 countries

On Wednesday, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, announced that about 14,000 cases of monkeypox have been recorded in more than 70 countries around the world.

"About 14,000 confirmed cases have been reported to the World Health Organization this year from more than 70 countries and territories," Ghebreyesus said. "So far, five deaths have been reported, all in Africa."

He added that most infections are still detected in Europe, mostly among men who have had sex with men like themselves.
